Three found dead; police seek person of interest

New Lisbon Police are searching for a person of interest after three people were found dead inside a home Monday afternoon.

According to an updated press release from the New Lisbon Police, we have more information on the incident regarding three deaths in New Lisbon. 

On Sunday night a little after 10PM, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s office asking for assistance in locating a missing juvenile. The juvenile was last seen with Virgil Thew age 47, known to live in New Lisbon. 

A little before 8 yesterday morning, the New Lisbon Police joined the investigation and throughout the course  of the day were made aware of a second missing juvenile. Around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, two juveniles and one adult were found dead inside a home on West Bridge Street in New Lisbon. 

Police are looking for Virgil Thew. Last seen wearing a dark colored down coat, blue jeans, and a hat. Virgil should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not confront him. Call 911 if you have any information.

NEW LISBON, WI- (WFHR, WIRI, WXCO) – Police in Juneau County are searching for a “person of interest” after three people were found dead in a home in New Lisbon on Monday afternoon. 

A press release said the Juneau County Communication Center received a call at 4:29 Monday afternoon about three people found dead.

New Lisbon police have named Virgil G. Thew, 47, as a person of interest and are currently looking for him. He is described as a white man, 5’10”, and weighs about 150 pounds. He was last seen in a dark brown coat and hat.

Thew is wanted through Wisconsin Probation and Parol. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be confronted or approached. If you have information on Thew’s whereabouts, you’re asked to call the New Lisbon Police Department at (608) 562-3333.

Police expect to release more information later today (Tuesday, December 31, 2024).
