North Crawford travels to Ithaca for baseball matchup
ITHACA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – Ithaca won 10-7 over visiting North Crawford on the final night of the Ridge and Valley baseball season. The Bulldogs started strong with seven runs in the first two innings. The Trojans bounced back with a four-run third inning. The score stayed at 7-4 until a three-run outburst in the sixth inning for Ithaca.
North Crawford countered with three runs in the top of the seventh, but it was not enough. The Bulldogs held on to improve to 11-3 in the league, and 15-5 overall. The Trojans fell to 7-7 in the league, which is a vast improvement from last year, where they did not win a league contest.
They are 9-8 for the season.
Caden Keller pitched the first three innings for Ithaca while Sammy Clary worked the last four innings from the mound. Andrew Munson pitched the first two innings for North Crawford and Landon Blaha finished up.
The leading hitters in the game for Ithaca were Hewston Boland, who hit a two-run home run and finished three for four; Sammy Clary went three for four with a double; Cody Byrnes, Channing Brown, and Keegan Jones were all two for four; Wes Nelson scored two runs, and Mac Neefe hit a two-run home run. North Crawford was led at the plate by Cullen Jacobus and Andrew Munson, who were both two for three, and Landon Blaha, who hit a three-run home, finishing two for four.
Following the 10-7 win, Ithaca will prepare for the WIAA seeding meeting on Wednesday, May 21, and a non-conference game with Barneveld is scheduled for Friday, May 23.
