The City of Wisconsin Rapids Police and Fire Commission announces that Deputy Chief Benjamin Goodreau has been appointed to serve as Fire Chief for the City, succeeding former Chief Todd Eckes, who retired on December 31, 2024.
Chief Goodreau has been with the Department for 18 years, advancing to Deputy Chief in October 2024 after serving as Battalion Chief since 2019. Chief Goodreau is certified as a Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and is currently attending the
National Fire Academy to attain Executive Fire Officer certification. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Villanova University.
